When Anger Arises
>> May 21, 2010
The antidote to anger is not compassion, as one might think.
The antidote to anger is patience.

Interesting - why do you think this is so? Patience seems to indicate we're still fighting w teeth clenched, but compassion seems to indicate we can put our arm around anger and invite it to dinner as a friend.

To be honest, my teacher told me this. He said, "I'm so sorry this is happening to you. The antidote for anger is patience though. It's not compassion like most people think, it's patience." I replied, "Thank you so much, I will start practicing patience." And then that was the end of the lesson! But I found that I went head first into it, tackling the anger with patience. And you know it worked, and even softened me to where compassion would be more possible. But I never did really think it out, I just took the advice and ran with it. Because I trust my spiritual friend so much. And it worked so far! --bows to Tashi--

The great offered possibilities to undo painful delusion like anger! So good!
When a fellow seems to become anger, to have patience with skill, for the painful state he-she is dwelling in.
It is very helpful for him-her and so for own being.
In own mind stream the seemingly anger can be a friend or dissolve in it self and so on.
Like that I think to do. Hehe.
