The Dharma is Alive
It's people like this who keep the dharma alive. When someone makes the decision to help another with no personal gain in mind, when they hear the cry of suffering and feel compelled to respond, that is living dharma.
"Every person whose heart is moved by love and compassion, who deeply and sincerely acts for the benefit of others without concern for fame, profit, social position, or recognition expresses the activity of Chenrezig."--Bokar Rinpoche

The words not only described my mind-situation perfectly, but incorporated a show of tremendous compassion and teachings of the Tathagata.
